Tissue Expander Implant Reconstruction
The Center for Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, located in Orlando, is proud to offer patients a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedures, including tissue expander implant surgery. This procedure prepares the chest muscles for breast reconstruction following a mastectomy. The following images are of real patients who have chosen the Center for Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery for their breast reconstruction. These images have not been altered and are representative of the type of transformations that we can achieve.
Tissue expander/implant reconstruction involves surgically placing a temporary implant under the pectoralis muscle located in the chest. Over about a 12-week period, the expander is gradually filled using an access port in order to stretch the tissue. A second surgery is then performed to remove the expander, which is replaced with the permanent breast implant.
The Center for Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery is proud to offer patients both surgical and non-surgical options for reconstructing or improving the appearance and contour of the breasts, face, and body in one of the most comprehensive facilities in the Orlando area. Dr. Kendall Peters leads the Center for Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. During his career as a board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Peters has committed himself to following the highest standards of patient safety and care and is known for his dedication to patient service and support.
