Mini Tummy Tuck
in Orlando, FL

Even with increased exercise and an improved diet, it can be hard to lose the fat that resides on the lower portion of your belly, especially as you age. At the Center for Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Orlando, we understand how frustrating this resistant abdominal fat can be. Led by board-certified plastic surgeon Kendall Peters, MD, FACS, our office provides mini tummy tucks to the residents of Orange County and Central Florida.

What Is Mini Tummy Tuck Surgery?

When you undergo a full tummy tuck, excess fat and skin are removed from your entire abdominal area. A mini tummy tuck is a better option for those who have minimal fat that is located below the belly button, in the lower abdomen. The mini tummy tuck is a much less invasive surgery than a full tummy tuck and therefore the scar is much smaller.

Benefits of Mini Tummy Tuck Surgery

The mini tummy tuck is a less invasive surgery than a traditional full tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty. The risks are much smaller, the downtime is less, and the recovery is easier. Other benefits include:

  • Minimal scarring compared to a traditional tummy tuck.
  • Your bellybutton does not need to be repositioned.
  • If you have scar tissue from prior surgeries that keep you from undergoing a full tummy tuck, the mini tuck may be an option.
  • Less expensive than a full tummy tuck.

How Is Mini Tummy Tuck Surgery Performed?

When you undergo a mini tummy tuck, a small incision will be made above or along your pubic area. Dr. Peters will use this incision to remove unwanted fat before tightening the muscles and placing them in a new position. Extra fat is removed, and the incision is shut.

Recovery from Mini Tummy Tuck Surgery

A mini tummy tuck is much easier on the body than a full tummy tuck, but it is still a major surgery and needs to be treated as such. In order to get proper rest, you need to arrange for someone to be with you post-surgery. It can take up to four weeks to heal and during that time you must restrict physical activity. There will be some discomfort such as swelling, bruising and tenderness. Dr. Peters can prescribe pain medication if warranted and he will have you wear special compression garments to aid in your healing.

How Much Does Mini Tummy Tuck Surgery Cost in Orlando?

Everyone’s tummy tuck is different because your body is unique. Because surgery is customized, the cost varies between patients. You can finance your surgery through CareCredit® and we will help you through the process. You can learn more about payment options on our financing page.

Is Mini Tummy Tuck Surgery Right for Me?

Dr. Peters feels that patients with some resistant fat on their lower abdomens are good candidates for mini tummy tucks. He doesn’t recommend the mini tummy tuck as a weight loss solution, nor are they recommended for women who are planning to get pregnant.
