Breast Lift
in Orlando, FL

Are you unsatisfied with the appearance of your breasts because they are not as firm, lifted, and contoured as they were in your younger days? If so, a breast lift may be right for you. If you are considering a breast lift procedure, the best time to have one is after breast development has stopped. For most women, this is at about 17 years of age. Women who have been pregnant and breastfed their babies often have breasts that are pendulous and soft, with nipples that point downwards. For such women, a breast lift can help them regain the youthful appearance they once enjoyed. The Center for Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Orlando is led by Kendall Peters, MD, FACS, a board-certified plastic surgeon providing breast lift procedures for women living in Orange County and Central Florida.

What is a Breast Lift?

Also called a mastopexy, the breast lift is a procedure that restores the breast to a more firm and youthful form by reshaping and elevating the breast. As a woman ages, the breast tissue loses its youthful shape and firmness and begins to sag. The skin loses its natural elasticity, and the nipple areola complex may widen and point downward. Pregnancy, breast-feeding, weight fluctuations, and gravity all contribute to this process and inevitably result in sagging of the breasts. The breast lift removes excess skin, and the breast tissue is reshaped and supported. The nipple areolar complex is elevated to a more central position on the breast mound.

New statistics released recently by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) show that breast lift procedures are growing at a rapid rate. This has become one of the more popular plastic surgery procedures.

Benefits of a Breast Lift

Although a breast lift will not increase breast size, it can provide the following:

  • Enhancement of your appearance
  • Restoration of your natural breast shape
  • Restoration of your original nipple appearance and position
  • The ability for you to wear different clothes
  • Enhancement of your self-esteem

The Breast Lift Procedure

Mastopexy does not significantly change the size of the breast. If a woman desires added fullness and wishes to increase her breast size, breast augmentation can be performed at the same time. Incisions may extend around the areola, as a vertical line down the lower pole of the breast, and into the natural crease below the breast. The result is an elevated, firmer, more youthful appearing breast. The breast lift will be performed under general anesthesia. The surgery usually ranges from two to three hours.

Breast Lift Recovery

Most patients can resume normal activities within one to two weeks; however, strenuous activities should be limited for a month. You will be fitted with a surgical bra to maximize support and comfort. Pain medication will be prescribed for the first one to two weeks after surgery. Specific restrictions and physical limitations will be detailed at your consultation. Breast lift patients are able to go home the same day as surgery.

How Much Does a Breast Lift Cost in Orlando, FL?

There is no one answer to this question since each case is different based on the unique needs of each individual patient. When you meet with Dr. Peters, you can discuss procedure costs and get more information about the actual procedure.

If you are undergoing surgery, we ask that you pay in full at least two weeks before your procedure. We accept payment in the form of cash, check, or major credit cards. We also provide convenient financing through CareCredit®.

Although insurance companies do not normally cover the costs of cosmetic procedures such as breast lifts, you may still be eligible if your procedure is required medically, such as a symmetry procedure after surgery for breast cancer.

Is a Breast Lift Right for Me?

You may make a good candidate for a breast lift procedure if you would like to restore the shape and firmness of your breasts and have an improved, youthful breast profile.

Can Breast Implants Be Inserted During a Breast Lift?

Yes. In fact, this is a very common combination and good for those who would like to enhance both the size and shape of their breasts in one session. Dr. Peters will be happy to assist you in determining the optimal type and size of your breast implants so that you get the most out of your breast lift procedure.
