Neck Lift
in Orlando, FL

If your smooth and unwrinkled face make people think you are much younger, it would be a shame to have your neck give away your real age. If you have a saggy and wrinkled neck, you are not alone. Many adults deal with “turkey neck” as they age. The Center for Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, located in Orlando, and led by board-certified plastic surgeon Kendall Peters, MD, FACS, has been helping men and women in Orange County and Central Florida to recreate the smooth, unwrinkled neck of their youth.

What is a Neck Lift?

A neck lift, also known as a lower rhytidectomy, is a cosmetic surgery procedure that gets rid of drooping jowls along your jawline. It can also eliminate a double chin or the saggy skin that looks like a turkey wattle at the front of your neck.

Benefits of a Neck Lift

Some people manage to keep their face looking young. Whether through genetics or cosmetic procedures, no one wants to pair a young face with an old and tired looking neck. If this is something you deal with, you might want to consider a neck lift. It is much less invasive than a facelift but still manages to give you a much younger and firmer appearance. It can give you back your youthful profile by eliminating neck area muscle banding, saggy jowls, and that dreaded turkey neck.

Am I a Candidate for a Neck Lift?

Dr. Peters feels that good candidates for a neck lift are adults who enjoy general good health and want to refresh their youthful look by cleaning up the excess skin around their jawline, chin, and neck.

The Neck Lift Procedure

A neck lift is somewhat like a facelift, but it is a much simpler procedure. During a neck lift, Dr. Peters will place a series of tiny incisions along the neck, giving him access to study the neck muscle. He will use the incisions to tighten the muscle, which gets rid of the banding. He will then remove any fatty pockets with liposuction. This creates a smooth and contoured neck. The final step in the procedure is to close the incisions and apply a dressing and compression band.

Mini-Neck lift

This procedure is appropriate for both men and women who notice the first signs of aging beginning on their necks. The mini neck lift only targets a specific and small portion of the neck, so if you find your neck showing minimal signs of aging, it might be an easy answer.

The mini neck lift is a minor cosmetic surgery procedure. It eliminates saggy skin, softens wrinkles and gets rid of fatty tissue, giving your neck back its youthful look. The mini lift only requires a few small incisions, causing it to grow in popularity with men and women alike.
The mini neck lift is perfect for patients with a turkey waddle look to their neck. It is a newer surgery that uses cutting-edge techniques to remove extra neck muscle and skin through a tiny slit cut in the chin.

Neck Lift Recovery

After the surgery, Dr. Peters will wrap your neck with supportive bandages. These will aid the healing process and keep your neck muscles supported post-surgery. With the neck muscles supported, you will be more comfortable as you face the first few days of healing. It is a good idea to keep your head elevated, even during sleep. Limit your movement, especially that which involves your neck for at least two weeks. Any stitches used are typically removed about a week after surgery. It takes a good two weeks for the soreness and discomfort to completely disappear. As your discomfort diminishes, the results of your surgery will become more evident.

Everyone heals at a rate that is personal to them, so Dr. Peters likes to make very specific recommendations to his patients. You can expect that he will tell you to stay away from strenuous physical activity for about two to three weeks following a neck lift. Keep all of your follow-up visits and use those visits to ask any questions that develop. A month after surgery, you will look in the mirror and appreciate your beautiful and youthful new neck.

How Much Does a Neck Lift Cost in Orlando?

Insurance companies don’t cover the cost of elective cosmetic procedures. The neck lift is an elective rather than a medical procedure so you will have to finance the procedure yourself. Dr. Peters’ offers financing via CareCredit® and payment plans to fit almost any budget. He also accepts major credit cards, personal checks, and cash.
