What is Restylane® Lyft?
Restylane® Lyft is an FDA-approved dermal filler that is formulated to restore fullness in the cheeks and midface area. Dr. Peters and physician assistant, Kristen Neilson, PA-C may also recommend Restylane® Lyft for treating your nasolabial folds and other moderate to severe wrinkles.
The volume in your cheeks and midface areas diminishes as you age due to natural fat loss. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane® Lyft binds with water molecules to essentially replace the volume that you once had with facial fat cells.
Am I a Candidate for Restylane® Lyft Treatment?
The FDA has approved Restylane® Lyft for patients who are at least 21 years old. Although Restylane® Lyft is most often recommended for anti-aging, it is also recommended for younger patients who have naturally small or hollow cheeks. If you have been recommended Restylane® Lyft for wrinkles, the product may not remove all signs of aging, such as lines that are etched into the skin. In these cases, you may be advised to initiate a skin rejuvenation treatment in conjunction with your Restylane® Lyft treatment.
How is Restylane® Lyft Administered? How Long Does It Take to Get Restylane® Lyft Treatment?
Restylane® Lyft is a smooth gel that is injected into the deep layers of skin. You may feel a slight pinch as the fine gauge needle is inserted into the skin. This sensation may be followed by a sensation of pressure as the gel enters the skin layer. Treatment times with Restylane® Lyft vary based on the degree of correction and treatment area. The initial treatment may take 30 to 60 minutes, and maintenance treatments may take 15 to 30 minutes.
How Many Treatments of Restylane® Lyft Will I Need?
The majority of patients require only one initial treatment with Restylane® Lyft.
How Long Do Restylane® Lyft Treatments Last?
When used for treating smile lines and other moderate to severe wrinkles, Restylane® Lyft treatments may last up to 12 months.
