Brachioplasty
in Orlando, FL

Many older people are bothered by the appearance of loose skin on their arms, sometimes called "bat wings". This sign of aging is very common and is due to the loss of skin elasticity. The Center for Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, located in Orlando, is led by Kendall Peters, MD, FACS, a board-certified plastic surgeon who provides brachioplasty for Orange County and Central Florida residents to restore upper arm tone.

What is Brachioplasty?

Significant weight loss, aging, and stretching of the tissues of the arms frequently result in large amounts of excess loose, sagging skin. This can be particularly problematic both when fitting clothes and while exercising. The arm lift, also known as a brachioplasty, removes excess skin and fat from the arms improving shape and overall proportion. Exercise can strengthen the underlying muscles of the arms, which will improve tone, but it cannot address large amounts of excess skin.

Brachioplasty Benefits

Dr. Peters’ patients have reported excellent results and satisfaction following their arm lift. They typically notice tighter, firmer skin, and their arms have more definition. Patients also commonly experience more comfort wearing short-sleeved shirts and/or dresses. The procedure also typically results in enhanced self-esteem and self-confidence.

The Brachioplasty Procedure

Brachioplasty is performed through a well-hidden incision along the inside of the arm, extending from the armpit region to the elbow. The procedure may also incorporate liposuction when appropriate. The result will be a reshaped, tighter, smoother arm with improved contours and better body proportions. It is important that a patient’s weight be stable prior to undergoing brachioplasty. The arm lift surgery will be performed under general anesthesia. The surgery typically takes two to three hours.

Brachioplasty Recovery

A post-surgical compression garment must be worn for several weeks following surgery. Surgical drains may be placed to assist with healing for a short time. You will be able to resume normal routine activities in one to two weeks, however, strenuous exercise and physical activity will be limited for up to four weeks. Further details regarding activity limitations will be provided at your consultation.

How Much Does Brachioplasty Cost in Orlando?

There is no one answer to this question, since each individual case is different, depending upon the unique anatomy of each patient and how much correction is required.

The cost of your own surgery will be revealed to you after your initial consultation. We accept payment in the form of cash, personal check, or credit card. Convenient financing is also available using CareCredit®.

Is Brachioplasty Right for Me?

You may make a good candidate for arm lift surgery if you have:

  • Skin on your arms that is loose or sags
  • Fat deposits on your upper or lower arms

Dr. Peters also recommends the procedure for those with stubborn fat on their arms that has been unresponsive to changes in diet or exercise regimens.

Why Choose Dr. Peters for Your Brachioplasty?

Dr. Peters fully appreciates how plastic surgery improves the lives of his patients by offering them a natural, more youthful appearance. His enjoyment comes from seeing patients feel more comfortable and confident following their arm lift procedures.
