Breast Augmentation
in Orlando, FL

Larger, proportionate breasts are considered more desirable and attractive by society's image standards, and it's not unusual for women to show interest in increasing the size and shape of their breasts to fit in with this ideal. Breast augmentation can not only help women achieve the larger bust size they desire, but it can also boost their confidence and self-esteem. The Center for Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Orlando is led by board-certified plastic surgeon Kendall Peters, MD, FACS, who proudly offers breast augmentation surgery to the women of Orange County and Central Florida who want to enhance the size of their breasts and achieve a more proportionate, feminine figure.

What is Breast Augmentation?

Breast enlargement, otherwise known as breast augmentation or a boob job, enhances the body contour of a woman who is dissatisfied with her breast size. This procedure can also correct a reduction in breast volume following pregnancy or significant weight loss. Noticeable imbalances in breast size and some developmental breast abnormalities may also be improved by breast augmentation. Proper placement of implants by Dr. Peters will enhance the breasts and improve the balance and proportions of a woman’s figure. This can increase self-esteem, bolster confidence and improve self-image. In situations where there are excessive sagging and drooping of the breast tissue, a simultaneous breast lift may be required.

Benefits of Breast Augmentation

  • Increased breast size

  • Balanced and proportional breasts

  • Rounder and fuller breasts that are more attractive in appearance

  • Improved confidence and self-esteem

  • A more feminine and youthful figure

The Breast Augmentation Procedure

Breast implants are most commonly placed through a small incision in the crease at the base of the breast or around the nipple/areola. Women may choose to have saline or silicone implants which are placed above or below the muscle depending on each patient’s individual needs and preferences. All options will be thoroughly discussed at your evaluation, and Dr. Peters will recommend the best solution for you.

Breast augmentation surgery will typically be performed at our outpatient surgery center, conveniently located in our office building. You will be placed under general anesthesia, and the surgery typically lasts approximately one and a half to two hours. Patients are able to go home the same day after the procedure.

Breast Augmentation Recovery

Most patients return to normal activity within a week. However, heavy aerobic or strenuous activity is not recommended for three to four weeks. During this time, you will be placed in a surgical bra to ensure ultimate comfort and support. You will be given pain medication for your comfort at home for the first one to two weeks. Restrictions and any limitations will be fully detailed for your procedure.

You will be evaluated several times during the year following surgery.

Breast Implant Facts

There are approximately 10 million women with breast implants worldwide. Extensive testing has been performed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to verify the safety of breast implants. Results of these studies conclude that breast implants are safe and do not cause connective tissue disorders, auto-immune diseases, breast cancer or reproductive problems. Implants can be silicone gel filled or saline filled. Implants come in different sizes and can be round, anatomically shaped, smooth or textured. Dr. Peters will recommend the best implant for you.

Gummy Bear Implants

In addition to numerous silicone and saline implants, are you aware that there is a new breast implant on the market? It is commonly referred to as the “Gummy Bear.” This new implant has a more natural shape and helps disguise the fact that breast enhancement has been performed.

How Much Does Breast Augmentation Cost in Orlando, FL?

There are various factors that determine the cost of breast augmentation surgery, but the overall cost largely depends on the current condition of the patient's breasts and her desired outcome. Breast augmentation is considered a cosmetic procedure that isn't medically necessary, and insurance companies will not cover the cost of this procedure in most cases. At the Center for Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, we accept cash, most major credit cards, and we have financing available through CareCredit® to make breast augmentation surgery more affordable for our patients.

Is Breast Augmentation Right for Me?

If you feel that your breasts are uneven, too small, or misshapen, and you want a larger, more voluptuous bust line, breast augmentation may be the solution for you. The FDA requires that all women be at least 18 years of age to undergo breast augmentation with breast implants, and women should also be in good health before undergoing this procedure.

Breast Augmentation FAQs

Gummy bear, or “tear drop” shaped implants are anatomically shaped implants that more closely mimic the natural shape of the breast in comparison to round implants.

An alternative to breast implants is fat grafting, in which fat is liposuctioned from another body area and re-transplanted into the breasts in order to enhance shape, volume, and size.

The breast implants themselves do not sag, however the overlying breast tissue can potentially sag over time. This is different in every individual and is largely dependent on skin quality.

Silicone breast implants tend to feel more like natural breast tissue in comparison to saline implants which tend to feel more like a water balloon.
