Mini Facelift in Orlando, FL
What is a Mini Facelift?
A mini facelift works to correct signs of aging through surgery to rejuvenate the face from the cheeks to the jawline. Often known as the “one-hour facelift”, the mini facelift combats early signs of aging by lifting sagging cheeks and reducing nasolabial folds (wrinkles around the nose). Undergoing a mini facelift is a great way to preserve a youthful jawline and refresh your cheek structure without a lot of necessary downtime. We get you back up and busy with your Orlando lifestyle in no time!
Am I a Candidate For a Mini Facelift?
The mini facelift is ideal for younger patients who may have one or two small problem areas they want to treat. In general, these patients are typically too young for a full facelift. The mini facelift is also ideal for those who have had a full facelift in the past but desire some additional tightening.
Benefits of a Mini Facelifts
If you are looking to improve particular areas of your face, such as reducing fine lines and wrinkles around your mouth and nose or tightening your jawline, you may benefit from a mini facelift. The mini facelift typically rejuvenates the middle part of the face as well as the cheeks and under eye area. Other benefits of the mini facelift include:
- Firmer, younger-looking skin
- Boosted self-confidence
- Lifted cheeks and jawlines
- Less downtime and shorter recovery time
How Does the Mini Facelift Differ From the Traditional Facelift?
A mini facelift improves the face from the under eye area down to the jawline. The surgery is ideal for those patients with a youthful neckline who want to target areas above the jawline. A full, traditional facelift improves both your neck and facial features. In addition to fixing sagging cheeks, reconstructing a youthful jawline, and reducing wrinkles and lines around your nose and mouth, a full facelift also corrects “jowls” by removing excess skin on the chin and neck.
Another difference between the mini facelift and the full facelift is the recovery time involved after the procedures. While the full facelift takes up to a month to fully recover, you can return back to your normal daily activities and routine in half the time with a mini facelift.
Choosing between a mini facelift and a full, traditional facelift is a personal decision which can prove to be a difficult one. A one-on-one consultation with Dr. Peters will help you make an informed decision and the right decision for you. During this visit, Dr. Peters will analyze your facial structure, listen to your wants and needs, and create a personalized plan of action to ensure you receive the most natural results possible.
What Is the Mini Facelift Procedure Like?
The mini facelift is less surgically involved than a full, traditional facelift, but uses many of the same routines and procedures to provide similar results. You will be given local anesthesia and sedation to ensure you feel no pain during the actual procedure. Dr. Peters will make small, naturally curving incisions along the contours in front of your ears and along your jawline. He will then carefully separate underlying tissue from the superficial skin layers. The surplus adipose tissue is removed, and the underlying corresponding facial muscles are tightened before the skin is placed in its new, more youthful position.
Mini Facelift Recovery
Pain and recovery time resulting from a mini facelift are considerably less than with a traditional facelift. Some pain and tightness immediately following surgery are to be expected, but they normally subside after three days. Sutures are removed within a week, and at that time you may return to your normal daily activities.
