Sometimes, non-surgical treatment may not provide quite significant enough results to fulfill our aesthetic goals. The natural aging process can lead to noticeable volume loss and sagging of the skin, both of which are especially visible in the face. Less severe cases can be treated by a host of nonsurgical methods, including injectable fillers like Juvéderm® and Restylane®, neurotoxins like Botox® and Dysport®, and laser skin resurfacing, among many more. However, when the signs of aging have advanced past a certain level, a surgical procedure such as a neck lift or mini-facelift can provide you with more significant results.
What is a Mini-Facelift?
A mini facelift, or “partial rhytidectomy,” is a procedure that entails “tacking” the sagging facial skin and underlying muscle back to its proper anatomic location. The incisions made in this procedure are shorter than in a traditional facelift. This is because mini-facelifts only address either the upper face or lower face instead of the entire face at once
What is a Neck Lift?
A neck lift is a surgical procedure that tightens and redefines the skin and underlying muscle of the neck. As we age, the neck muscle begins to separate at the midline, creating the “turkey neck” appearance. A neck lift will tighten up this muscle and remove excess skin, allowing the skin to re-drape over the muscle and improving the overall appearance of the neck.
