Several injectable dermal fillers are now available to correct mild to moderate facial wrinkles, such as the nasolabial folds extending from the nostril downward toward the corners of the mouth. These same substances can be used for lip augmentation and in wrinkles around the mouth and chin.  These injections are most often done using a local anesthesia block to minimize patient discomfort during the procedure.  There can be some bruising and swelling for a few days following the injections, but camouflage make up can be worn during this time.
