Chemical Peels |

Chemical peels remove the outer layers of damaged skin leaving fresh layers of skin which have not yet been damaged by the sun. This process stimulates the skin to produce new collagen for smoother skin texture. In this manner, a chemical peel can improve fine lines, wrinkles, and discoloration caused by the sun resulting in a more youthful appearance. CPRS offers several types of chemical peels and we will evaluate your skin to determine which type is best for you. Some patients have extensive sun damage and a deep peel will be required to obtain significant improvements. Others have less damaged skin and a superficial peeling agent is most appropriate. Recovery time will depend on the peeling agent used and the depth of the peel. Deep peels may also require a period of skin preparation for several weeks leading up to the peel to obtain optimal results.
