Male Breast Reduction – Gynecomastia Orlando

Are you a man with a larger-than-normal breast area? If so, you may be experiencing gynecomastia, and a male breast reduction could be the key to a better life. Gynecomastia is the condition of having excess fat and/or glandular tissue in the chest region.

The male breast reduction procedure takes one to three hours. Patients are given anesthesia (either local with sedation or general), and then one or more incisions are created to allow the surgeon access to the excess tissue. The incision sites are typically the armpit and one part of the border of the areola.

After the incisions are made, the surgeon uses liposuction (fatty tissue removal), excision (glandular tissue removal), and mastopexy (breast skin tissue removal) techniques to contour the breast area to a more masculine standard. These techniques are either used in conjunction or individually depending on the needs of the patient. The nipples and areolae may be shifted in order to conform to the new breast contours.

Once the male breast reduction is complete, the incisions are closed using sutures or other surgical closure equipment. Drainage tubes are often used afterward to drain any excess fluid. Depending on how you’re feeling after the male breast reduction surgery, you may have to stay overnight. Avoid any physically stressful activities for around one month.

It’s important to remember that male breast reduction can leave patients with hanging skin or disproportionate areolae. These can be corrected with further surgery. The better the elasticity of your skin, the less chance that skin sagging will occur after surgery.
